Top-Rated Private School in Northern Virginia
For more than three decades, families across Fairfax County and Northern Virginia have trusted Private School to give their children a solid, college-preparatory education from kindergarten all the way through twelfth grade.
About Our School
Since opening its doors in 1987, Private School has earned a strong reputation among families throughout Fairfax County, Virginia. Our campus at 14120 Newbrook Dr in Chantilly sits in the heart of Northern Virginia and gives students a safe, welcoming place where curiosity is the starting point for real learning.
We work from a straightforward idea: every child brings something different to the table. Classes stay small, averaging around 14 students, so teachers can actually get to know each kid. That level of attention leads to stronger mentorship, faster feedback, and the kind of growth you can see from year to year, from kindergarten through senior year.
Private School holds full accreditation from the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). We are serious about giving students a balanced experience that goes beyond tests and grades, one that weaves together demanding coursework, the arts, competitive athletics, and meaningful community involvement.

What Families Say
“Our daughter went from being a good student to a great one after switching to Private School. The teachers pay real attention, not just during class but after school too. And the college counseling office basically walked us through every step of her UVA application.”

“I graduated back in 2019, and honestly, the science department here is what got me hooked on research. When your classes are that small, you can just walk up to a teacher and ask for help, no appointment needed. That made all the difference for me at Georgetown.”
James T.

“We toured pretty much every private school in Northern Virginia before deciding. What sold us on Private School was the combination of solid academics, a genuine sense of community, and financial aid that actually made it work for our budget.”
